Why Luminous Second?

So when I found myself back again at the doorstep of my Catholic Faith and rediscovered the beautiful prayer of the Rosary, I noticed something different. Despite the fact I haven't prayed it in years, I knew something was different.

Luminous Mysteries? I don't remember meditating about that? Turns out it was Pope John Paul II's gift in early 2000. He added the Luminous Mysteries to this already wonderful prayer.

Giving credit to the Baptist School I went to, I learned from there of the First Miracle of Jesus. He turned Water to Wine at a wedding party in Cana.

Aren't wedding parties fun? :) Anyway, the second Luminous Mystery is when Jesus turned water into wine. And I must admit, is a favorite of mine.

And when I pray and medidate on it, I can't help but smile and maybe even chuckle a little about it. I can't help but work my imagination. I can hear music and laughter and smell the good food, feel the cool breeze and see the beautiful bride and groom in their beautiful wedding garments with the equally beautiful guests. Everyone was in a merry mood, eating the wedding feast and drinking wine.

But The Wine ran out.

Enter Mother Mary. It is indeed a Mystery but somehow , she knew her Son can do something about it. I can almost see her approach her son. And I don't have the elquency of giving a good dialogue pardon me.

"Hello darling Son, we're out of wine."
" ...and that's my concern because? My hour has not yet come."

But His Mom gave the directions to the servants anyway to do what Jesus tells them. And Jesus made such good wine from those however many container it was. Yes, Jesus granted his Mama's request. :)

There is indeed a deeper meaning to this for this was the beginning of his ministry and for me, as much as He says it was not his hour just yet, it gave us a peek to His Divinity.

Again, I'm not apologist and  I'm not a scholar. I'm merely another person who rediscovering the joy of  my Catholic faith who also likes an occasional wine now and again and enjoys wedding parties. :)

Cheers to God :)
